In this guide, you'll learn more about the various charts displayed on the dashboard.
Where does the data in the graphs come from?
The data displayed is aggregated data, not real-time data. It is processed daily and shows a snapshot of the previous day.
This is intentionally designed to limit the load on the servers and keep the application’s performance stable and fast.
For some charts, there is a limitation that allows you to look back a maximum of 2 years. This prevents excessive load when retrieving and processing historical data, ensuring that the Club Planner continues to run smoothly.

Subscriptions and revenue: the key figures and how to read them
You find these figures on the analytics screen of Club Planner (tabs Memberships, Financial and Members & Retention) and in the Club Planner desktop app under Members > Subscriptions > Dashboard. Every chart has an (i): hover over it for the same explanation as below.
Chart
What do you see?
How do you read it?
Active members
Members who today have at least one running membership that counts as an active member (punch cards and family members included). The line shows the count at the end of each month.
An arrow up means more active members than at the end of last month. Compare with this month's joiners and leavers to see where the difference comes from.
MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue)
Your predictable monthly revenue from running subscriptions. Annual and quarterly subscriptions are spread over their months; punch cards, day passes and retail sales are not included. The percentage compares with the end of last month.
This is the revenue you can count on every month without new sales. Example: an annual subscription of € 600 counts as € 50 per month. A rising line means your recurring income is growing.
Net MRR change
How your MRR changed each month, looked at per member. Green: all increases (new members, more expensive subscriptions). Red: all decreases (leavers, cheaper subscriptions). A normal renewal does not count.
Green minus red is exactly the rise or fall of your MRR that month. A positive result means more recurring revenue came in than went away. A large red bar usually points to leavers or to members moving to a cheaper plan.
Churn rate
The percentage of members who were active at the start of the month and left during that month (leavers ÷ active at start × 100). Someone who takes a new membership within 15 days after the previous one ended does not count as a leaver.
Example: 400 active members on 1 March and 8 leavers in March gives 2 % churn. The lower, the better. The current month is not over yet, so look mainly at the last complete month.
Membership type distribution
How your running memberships are split by type today. Memberships are counted, not people. Only types that count as an active member are included. Updated by the nightly calculation.
This shows which plans run the most. The total can be higher than the number of active members, because one member can have several memberships.
Avg membership duration
How long members stayed on average, in days, for memberships that ended in the selected period. Consecutive memberships with at most 14 days in between count as one; running memberships are not included. The line shows, per month, the average over the preceding 12 months.
The higher, the longer your members stay. Below the number you see how many ended memberships it is based on and how many days it differs from the period of the same length before. A short duration often comes from many short plans, such as punch cards or monthly subscriptions that are not renewed.
Avg monthly billed amount per active member
The average monthly value per active member of the memberships and punch cards that count as an active member. The price is spread evenly over the months the membership is valid. It is the agreed price, not what was actually paid; retail sales are not included.
What an active member brings in per month on average according to their plan. M0 = this month, M-1 = last month, Y-1 = the same month last year. If this amount rises, members choose more expensive plans or your prices went up.
