Milon

What is Milon?

Milon is a connected strength-training circuit, made by the German manufacturer milon (the milon group, based in Emersacker, Bavaria — "Made in Germany"). A Milon circuit usually consists of eight strength machines, often supplemented with cardio stations, which members work through in a fixed, guided round.

What makes it special: each machine adjusts itself automatically as soon as your member identifies themselves at the station. In a fraction of a second, the seat height, range of motion and resistance are set correctly for that person, based on a stored profile (created during an initial biometric measurement). No one has to move pins around or memorize a programme anymore.

  • The resistance is controlled electronically instead of via a classic weight stack, which lets the machine steer the concentric and eccentric phases separately (joint-friendly and with varied stimuli).
  • On the screen, your member gets real-time feedback (e.g. range of motion and speed) and guidance from station to station.
  • The circuit runs on fixed time intervals: one round takes about 17.5 minutes, and a full recommended session (strength + cardio) around 35 minutes.
  • Every session, repetition and weight is automatically logged in milon's cloud (milon CARE) and is visible to the member (app) and the coach.

Because it works on intervals, up to around 12 members can train on a single circuit at the same time. This makes the system particularly well suited for older, less-trained or beginner members, and for medical/physiotherapy environments. In terms of concept, Milon sits in the same "smart-strength" category as eGym.

What can Milon do for my club?

Milon itself is capital equipment (a purchase or financing of machines + cloud software + training), not an app subscription. The price depends on the size of the circuit and the options — always confirm this with milon or the distributor for Belgium/EU. For your club, the system offers, among other things:

  • Guided, timed circuit training: members always know exactly what to do.
  • Automatic per-member setup at every station — no manual adjusting.
  • Recognition of the member via chip card and/or the milon app/account.
  • Automatic recording of every session in milon CARE, visible through the app and to the coach.
  • High throughput and space efficiency (up to ~12 members at the same time).
  • Less time for your team spent writing programmes and moving pins, and more time for motivation and coaching.

The link with Club Planner. Club Planner has its own direct integration with the MilonCare cloud. It ensures that your member database doesn't have to be entered twice:

  • Member data is sent from Club Planner to MilonCare: name, gender, email, language (NL is recognized), date of birth, contract end date, and optionally photo and address.
  • The member's barcode can be registered as an access token (type "desfire") in MilonCare, so that the machines recognize the member.
  • You can send a member manually via the "Send to MilonCare" button on the web member sheet, or via the "Milon Interface" button in the desktop application.

Honest about the limits: the link is one-way (Club Planner → MilonCare). Training results and workout data do not come back into Club Planner; you view those in the milon app and in milon CARE. For a continuous/automatic synchronization of visits, it's best to coordinate with Club Planner support — the manual push per member is the proven, immediately available route. Because this involves training and body data, it is personal data under the GDPR: check the data processing agreement, hosting location and app consent with milon beforehand.

How do I set up Milon?

You handle enabling and configuring it entirely yourself in MyClubPlanner. No intervention from the Club Planner back office is needed. What you do need to arrange externally are the access credentials with milon.

What you need beforehand:

  • A MilonCare studio account with a Studio Id and an API key. Both are issued by milon — Club Planner cannot create them itself. Request them from milon/MilonCare.
  • MilonCare / Milon Circle machines and cloud on milon's side.
  • Members with a valid email address (members without an email are skipped during synchronization).
  • For token recognition: a barcode on the member.

Steps in MyClubPlanner (you need club owner / settings rights):

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations.
  2. On the MilonCare tile, click the Settings button.
  3. Turn on the Active toggle.
  4. Enter the API-Key you received from milon.
  5. Enter the Studio Id you received from milon.
  6. Click Save. The link only shows "Active" once the toggle is on and both the API key and the Studio Id are filled in.

The fields you fill in:

FieldWhat it isWhere it comes from
ActiveTurns the MilonCare link on or off. You, in MyClubPlanner
API-KeyThe key Club Planner uses to sign in to the MilonCare cloud.Provided by milon
Studio IdThe identifier of your studio in MilonCare.Provided by milon

Sending a member. Once the link is active, you can push an individual member to MilonCare via "Send to MilonCare" on the web member sheet, or via the "Milon Interface" button in the desktop application. This way the member is ready to be recognized at the machines.

Questions about the access credentials, about a continuous visit synchronization, or about the setup of your circuit? Contact milon/the distributor (for the account, the machines and the GDPR arrangements) or Club Planner support (for the link in MyClubPlanner).
